When it comes to selecting a tour company it is important to remember the old saying “beauty is more than skin deep”. On closer examination a glossy cover and “low” price isn’t always as appealing as it originally appeared to be. What do we mean? Take a look below at a standard tour of the majority of tour operator providers out there in comparison with a standard Glamour Getaways Tour.
SMALL GROUPS
THEM: A normal sized tour is 50 plus travelers crammed on every available seat of the bus, your tour director wears a microphone and you follow around an umbrella stuck in the air. A normal “small” tour in the business is still a hefty 28 people.
GLAMOUR GETAWAYS: We are small and personalized, with a max of 16 travelers on each tour you are more than just a nameless face. With a small group your fellow travelers will quickly become like family, your tour director has plenty of time to dedicate to you and we can visit the little memorable sites the bigger guys just can’t.
SIGHTSEEING & ADMISSION
THEM: Unfortunately they are often full of a lot of “surprises”—and were not talking the good random flower delivery at work surprise kind. Many companies charge an additional $25-100 for each sightseeing activity listed on their itineraries. Climbing the Eiffel tower might be what is listed as Tuesday’s activity, and it is, but if you want to go—you’re going to have to pay.
GLAMOUR GETAWAYS: All of our group activities, transportation and admission are paid for in your tour price. Our “surprises” involve things such as an anti jet leg massage awaiting you at your hotel upon arrival or a detour to a famous gelato shop.

THEM: Read the fine print on many tour companies’ contracts and the majority reserve the right to charge you more money down the road if the rate of the hotel goes up, the dollar gets worse, etc.

TOUR PACE
THEM: How many times have you returned from a vacation only to find yourself in need of a vacation to recover from your vacation? Sure visiting 9 cities in 10 days sounds exciting, but the idea in practice is not nearly so. Rather it is exhausting, packing and unpacking, hoping on and off a bus and it gets difficult to remember what was seen and what wasn’t.
GLAMOUR GETAWAYS: We believe in giving making you feel like you are actually on vacation not a marathon race. We believe in spending a minimum of 2-3 days in a city. Not only is this restful, but you really have time to really get to know and savor a city.
TIPS
THEM: Many agencies expect you to pay out of pocket for all tips—this can really add up! In a quick tally of people to tip—there are the local tour guides, the drivers, the hotel staff, the housekeeping staff, the waiters, and the list goes on of tip needing services you will encounter.

TOUR DIRECTOR
THEM: A tour director who is overstressed with more people than she has time for and works hard to sell you additional sightseeing tours that provide her with hefty commission.
